Cadmatic to STAAD.Pro
Input File: Cadmatic Neutral File (.n)
Output File: STAAD.Pro File (.std)
PD2STPRO, a stand-alone 3D Plant Design-to-STAAD.Pro Interface program, is used to transfer structural geometry, their section and material properties, support conditions etc. from Cadmatic Oy’s 3D Plant Design software CADMATIC to the structural analysis software STAAD.Pro.

Analysis model in STAAD.Pro
PD2STPRO has two parts. The first is the Neural File creation program, which converts structural section elements modeled in the 3D Plant Design software CADMATIC into an intermediate neutral file. The second part is the windows executable PD2STPRO.exe, which reads this intermediate neutral file and maps it against the Material mapping DB and Section mapping DB to identify the valid STAAD.Pro section and material names that correspond to the CADMATIC section and material specifications. This PD2STPRO executable finally generates the batch input file (*.std), which can be opened and viewed in STAAD.Pro.
The execution sequence is as follows.

Salient Features of CADMATIC-to-STAAD.Pro Interface
- Transfers one-dimensional, straight, prismatic structural sections from Plant Design software to STAAD.Pro with proper orientation & connection.
- Provision to transfer the material properties through "Mapping DB".
- For sections with non-standard shapes, relevant sectional properties can be fed through proper "Mapping DB"
- Provision to transfer to the standard sections available in STAAD.Pro through "Mapping DB".
- For non-standard sections with standard shapes such as I, channel, tee sections etc., the Interface calculates the required properties on its own. If desired, the user can overwrite the calculated properties through "Mapping DB".
- Provision to transfer select members as Truss elements.
